What is the market situation for laminating machines?
As one of the main processes of post-press processing, lamination has long received attention in foreign countries, especially in developed countries, and has successfully developed and used environmentally friendly pre-coated films. However, since the introduction of lamination technology in the 1980s, the current situation of the lamination market is still not optimistic. When lamination was first introduced to China in the 1980s, it was mainly used for printed publications. The introduction and development of glazing technology are believed to replace lamination technology. Still, time has proved that glazing has not returned lamination, and glazing and lamination have developed together in foreign countries. Of course, this does not mean that the foreign market has tolerated the back side of lamination - there are serious environmental problems. The excellent development of the foreign lamination market is based on the thorough improvement of the lamination process. Presently, the utilization rate of foreign pre-coated films is as high as 100% and as low as 50%. However, according to the survey, the domestic environmental protection of the film coating market is relatively backward.

What is the application field for laminating machines in china?
Chinese laminating market and application fields mainly include the following three aspects:
1. Printed publications
Since its introduction into China, the lamination process has still attracted the attention of publishing institutions. The data from Xinhua Bookstore show that publication lamination products account for over 33% of the entire lamination product market. If we look at the actual production situation of the manufacturer, this percentage will be higher. The main reason for this is that the lamination process has its characteristics: publications whose covers are covered with lamination have high surface gloss, are waterproof, easy to transport and store, and remain relatively new after being placed on a bookshelf for some time.
Below is an annual report on printing technology provided by the State Press and Publication Administration.
Statistics from the State Press and Publication Administration in 2003 show that: in 2003, 190,391 kinds of books were published nationwide, with a total print volume of 6.67 billion copies (sheets), or 46.222 billion printed sheets and 159,716 types of books with a total print volume of 3.375 billion documents (sheets). 25.193 billion printed sheets and 28,789 textbooks were published nationwide, with a total print volume of 3.254 billion copies (sheets), or 20.923 billion printed sheets, equivalent to 491,700 tons of paper.
The above three books are equivalent to 1.6595 million reams of the cover paper, and more than 70% use different lamination processes. If the products with lamination + UV coating process are added, the amount of lamination is more than 85%.
In addition to being widely used in textbooks, books, periodicals, picture albums, manuals, wall charts (maps), and other publications, a considerable part of the outer packaging of audio-visual products is also decorated with lamination.
In addition, judging from the survey situation, Beijing and Guangxi are more used for the lamination process and actively seeking improved methods for the lamination process. However, to reduce the cost of book production and reduce pollution, Henan had to issue a regulation that "the teaching materials are not allowed to use the film coating process." Given the lamination process's advantages, we advocate actively finding ways to improve the lamination process, formulate lamination standards, and solve some problems and difficulties in the lamination market.
2. Various packaging products
Due to the advantages of waterproof, accessible transportation, and storage, the lamination market is further expanding, and many packaging products also use lamination technology, especially in the south. The following set of surveys illustrates the widespread use of laminated products in various types of packaging.
The lamination process is not only used in the outer packaging of paper products such as wine, food, medicine, clothing, shoes and hats, electronics, household appliances, etc. Grain, seeds, feed, cosmetics, hardware, daily necessities, soft drinks, handicrafts, and other industries expand.
The output of Chinese packaging and decoration printing products is 395.23 billion sheets, equivalent to at least 100 billion m2) of packaging and decoration printing products. From the perspective of market demand and product grades, 5% to 10% (5 billion to 10 billion m2) of packaging and printed materials use lamination technology. According to this year's forecast, it will increase by 20%, that is, it will reach at least 6 billion m2). And from the actual investigation of the carton factory, more than 95% of the color outer packaging boxes are using the lamination process.
It can be seen that although the lamination market for packaging products is currently a little smaller than the publication market, it is still the primary market for lamination products, accounting for more than 20% of the entire lamination market according to conservative estimates. The following also introduces a relatively new market - the field of advertising and digital fast printing.
3. Advertising and digital fast printing
With the development of digital printing technology in recent years, the lamination process has been adopted in advertising and fast digital printing. This rapidly emerging market accounts for more than 10% of the lamination market, each of which accounts for a certain proportion. Laminating the surface of digital prints with a golden image laminating machine, especially after printing a large area of solid, will help protect the photos during post-press processing, significantly when cutting or packaging. Function and can make the printed product more beautiful and durable.
The above analysis of the lamination market and application fields shows that the lamination process, as the primary method of post-press processing of printed matter, has a wide range of applications and a large amount of consumption. However, China has always paid little attention to post-press, so lamination, as a post-press process, has naturally been ignored for a long time. The quality of employees is low, and there is little communication. Therefore, the development of the lamination field is relatively slow, and the application technology is relatively backward. It has not formed an independent industry. At this stage, it mainly exists in two forms: (1) Due to the small investment in lamination equipment; General printing plants are equipped with lamination processing procedures, and (2) professional processing enterprises often operate jointly with processing enterprises such as glazing.
How do we solve the common problems when using the laminating machine?
1. Temperature control
If the temperature adjustment is not appropriate on rainy days or during the rainy season, the lamination product will not be bright. There was noticeable water vapor on the silicone roller, which was caused by the paper absorbing a lot of water. At this time, the temperature of the hot pressing roller can be adjusted to 40 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is too high, it will foam. Some hydrosol laminating machines do not have a heating device, and a drying lamp needs to be added before lamination to dry the adhesive layer and reduce foaming.
2. Pressure control
When laminating, the pressure should be adjusted according to the thickness of the paper, generally 5Pa. If the pressure is too high, film wrinkles and paper deformation will occur.
3. Glue control
The amount of glue is controlled by the gap between the glue roller and the glue roller, and some scraping films are added. Squeegee film has a large amount of glue under light pressure and a small amount of glue with heavy pressure. The amount of glue should be mastered well so it can cover evenly without producing crystal points. If the glue amount is too large, it will dull the product. During the gluing process, attention should be paid to preventing tiny particles and impurities from solidifying in the glue tray. If it gets stuck on the squeegee, it will create a white offset print, causing linear blistering. Before starting the machine, use an alcohol-based solvent to clean the rubber roller and the rubber hopper. If the rubber roller is not cleaned, it will cause eye blisters. For glue containing impurities, it can be diluted with water. After the impurities are precipitated, they can be used as a diluent to reduce the glue waste.
4. Roller cleaning
When the paper is separated, the glue will be directly rolled on the silicone roller, resulting in accumulation, which is easy to wrinkle the product or affect the brightness of the product. The roller should be cleaned frequently to keep it clean. The roller itself will crimp when it is not irregular and needs to be replaced.
5. Temperature and humidity control
The temperature and humidity of the environment change significantly, and the paper absorbs moisture to produce a "lotus leaf edge," the article is easy to wrinkle when laminating, so the balance of temperature and humidity should be maintained. If the temperature of the heating roller is too high, the tight edge of the paper will be wrinkled, and the temperature needs to be controlled as required.
6. Paper feed control
The skewed paper feeding will cause the paper to wrinkle, so be careful when operating so that the feeding paper is flat and the pressure is the same on both sides. When feeding paper, try to stack each piece by 3mm, and control the amount of glue to prevent glue overflow. This can reduce the mutual adhesion of the products after lamination. If the joint is wrinkled or cavitated, the pressure should be appropriately increased to maintain a balance of temperature and humidity so that the adhesion is flat and the blistering is reduced.
7. Film roll control
Prevents wrinkling caused by inconsistent tension on both sides of the film roll. First, select a film with the same elasticity on both sides, and then adjust the pressure on both sides of the film to balance it and prevent wrinkles. When laminating, try to use the film with the size of the wool book and the width of the material, such as the large 16-size film; try to use the 440mm wide film instead of the 460mm wide film, which can save 4% of the cost. When using a 780mm wide film for the 16 formats, try to trim the edges as much as possible, reduce the amount of glue, and save bond.
8. Do not use additives in printing and control the amount of powder spraying
Try not to use additives in the printing process because it is not easy to dry, and it is easy to foam after laminating. And also need to control the amount of powder used. Before laminating, arrange for a particular person to wipe off the dusting powder on the cover to reduce the phenomenon of lamination or foaming and make the product bright.
9. Speed control
In the process of laminating, do not change the host's speed at will. The gluing will not meet the requirements if the rate is too fast. When the rate is slightly increased, the amount of glue will be too large. If the rate is adjusted too low, the bond will be reduced, making it easy to foam. To ensure that the amount of cement is the same, the speed of the laminating machine can be limited to 60% of the maximum speed so that each shift runs at the specified rate, and data management is implemented to reduce unnecessary losses.
